Visit One with the Nutrionist

Image
DD#1 and I had our first visit with the nutrionist. Interesting. We decided between us that we are going to "boot camp" it - start 100% day one. What's that mean? No more poptarts. No more 100 calorie snacks. In short, no more empty calories. I made an excel chart up for what we are supposed to eat - and how often. Going to see if I can post it or at least link it here. Ends up eating 5 times a day. Can easily work this right into my WW plan - we go back next week to see how we're doing and fine tune it. My job is to make sure there is enough there for her to choose from. I know we have oranges, strawberries, bananas and apples as fruits. Carrots, tomatoes, cukes, and lettuce will start for veggies, although I also have fresh asparagus in the fridge (she doesn't like asparagus). We also must watch our portion size. Will check in later - she said she has lots of recipes to share - smoothies and cookies - so I'll be posting lots of new recipes in

Can't Believe It -

I ordered a new sewing machine 2 weeks ago - and waited, and waited, and waited. A friend of mine ordered hers from Overstock - and received it within a week. Finally after spending 30 minutes on the phone this a.m. - I find that my machine is backordered - would I like a full refund? YES DUH !!! Anyway, found the same machine at Circuit City - I can either go pick it up - or have it delivered - thinking of picking it up tonight - since I'll be going right by there. About the same price - I should have done this earlier - I could have been sewing up a storm on my new machine by now - and my old one could be in the sewing machine spa getting a tune up Will check out CC's software sale while I'm there - they sometimes have outstanding deals - check it out. Another Week Goes By

Wow - these weeks go quickly. WW meeting this a.m. - was so glad to see my older leader back - even if she was sitting with us, and not actually leading the group. Having her there, made me remember what made me stick to WW in the first place. She is such a class act - from her attitude to her shoes. A boost that was definately needed. Did OK at WI - should have done way much better - but still, down is down. Still can make my goal if I lose 2 lbs a week - so I'll stick to the program. Going to put on my pedometer - doing 10,000 steps each day this week. Next week it'll be 12,000 steps. Then 14,000 steps. By June, I'll be doing 20,000 steps each day - and I know I'll be closer to goal. A friend gave me a new DVD to check out - what an idea - I'm going to put some exercise video's/dvd's on hold at the library - that way I won't get bored, and won't have an excuse. I also buy myself a new MP3 player with headphones, so I can treadmill while

A Fresh Start

Didn't do so well this a.m. at WW - up almost 3 lbs. Course, I can't really blame it on my Texas trip - I think I probably put it on the week before I went - because I KNEW I wasn't going to have to weigh in that weekend. Gotta get my mind frame right, because then the rest will just fall into place. Still can make my end of June goal - I have 10 weeks to loose 20 lbs - so yes, that's 2 lbs a week - without fail - but I can, and will, do it. Dell's 10 days of deals started the other day. I missed some good ones. With 4 desktops and a laptop in the house - you'd think that'd be enough - but of course, ds now wants his own - and I'll probably get him one for his birthday. Too bad our old one died. Here's the link for Dell every day they have new deals - I'll take the link down when the 10 days are up. Gotta go figure out my day, so I can work in some sewing time, and treadmill time. With swimming and softball - it's hard to carve out time

Lands End Free Shipping -

Everyone knows I love Lands End Not only do their clothes last forever, their customer service is great, and if something doesn't fit - you can return it to a Sears store instead of paying to ship it back. Now's your chance to try on bathing suits for free. Shipping is free - just use the code RAIN and the pin 844881720 . For those of you that are a bit larger busted - and don't like your assets falling out while you body surf - check out the 3 piece Paisley Hi-neck Tankini - comes in 2 colors, an aqua and a coral. I ordered the aqua to take to Texas - soooo comfortable, and fit very nicely - so I came home to order the coral in one size smaller (still thinking good thoughts) and found it on sale for $30 !!! Gotta love it. Also ordered a NQP girls plus bermuda short for $7. For those not familiar with shopping online at lands end, look at the top of the page and click on Overstocks, from there you can click on "on the counter" or NQP (not quite perfect) o

Home From Texas - Eye Opening Experience

Welcome back readers - wow - what a whirlwind ride I've been on ! Last Wednesday the girls and I snuck out for a long weekend away. I left them in Phila with a friend, and I flew on down to Texas to meet up with some old and some new online quilting friends. What fun we had. Our hostess and her sister were waiting on us hand and foot. I can truely say I have never, ever been pampered like that. She wouldn't even let us clear the table after ourselves, and all of us were moms and wives, so you KNOW that doesn't happen !! We didn't sew all that much, but we had sooo much laughter - it didn't matter. We did start a few new projects, and we did some major shopping - it was a wonderful trip - next time I'll definately be staying longer !! Came home to a home that had been lived in by my 2 men. I won't bother telling the story about the down comforter and the brand new down pillows being left outside in the fresh air .... and rain :( After some major r

Swim Outlet

Everyone always asks where I get the girls swim suits. With 3 of the swimming - nonstop - nearly 7 days a week all year round, I go through some suits. At the price of competition suits - I'd be poor if I'd paid full price. Anyway, check out the prices at swim outlet - wonderful Swim Outlet

April Fools -

Goal for the month - lose 10 lbs - and I'm not fooling. I have 3 months to get to Onederland - end of June I promised my back row buds - and I'm going to do it. Journaling is definately the key for me. If I MAKE myself write everything down, then I seem to stick to my eating plans. With a vacation coming up, I need to get my eating under control now. Made appts. for all the kids to see the peditrician. Talked to oldest about maybe seeing a nutrionist. She needs help, and I'm not giving her what she needs. I make sure she gets enough exercise, and I make sure the right foods are here for her to eat, but she still overeats, and sneaks food - not a habit I want her to develop !! So, we'll continue to talk about it - until she realizes how much "she'll help me as well" if we see about meeting with a nutrionist, and perhaps a private trainer. Rainy day today, not too busy, hopefully work will get done early, and I'll have time to start unpacking my s
