Menu Plan Monday Week of Jan 4 2021

One of the things I know I need to do this year if I'm going to continue my health journey, is to cook more.  Last year we supported small businesses and had food delivered from multiple small restaurants - which was great for supporting them, but not so great when it concerns my diet efforts !!

One of the things that worked so well for me is doing the Menu Plan Monday hosted by Organizing Junkie - check out her site for lots of great ideas and links to other's Menu Plans !!

On the Menu this Week

Monday - Molikia is an Egyptian dish over rice - also known as Jew's Mallow.   I'll do a step by step on this one someday - not many Americans know how to cook a tasty rabbit dish.

Tuesday - Dinnerly Recipe -  I have tried a couple subscription boxes.  Was not happy with the blandness of Hello Fresh, plus their delivery was more miss than hit.   Use my link and try a free box !

Wednesday - My anniversary - unfortunatly the hubby is recovering from COVid and Pnenomia in our apartment in the City, so while we won't have a nice dinner together, I'll whip up some Cod and Shrimp - the girls are headed to visit their sister for the week - so just me and Adam home for dinner.

Thursday - Dinnerly Recipe

Saturday - Leftovers - see note below

Sunday - Teriyaki Chicken from Plan to Eat

Plan To Eat -  OK - so that's an affiliate link - but I'd recommend this program anyway.  I've been a user since 2012.   Subscriptions are about $20 for an entire year if you purchased during the Black Friday sale (usually a week long)   Best part is you can friend others that use it, and you'll see your shopping list and your menu plan on your phone while you are at the store - very helpful for those of us who print out a list and then leave it at home :)

Dinnerly Subscription -   Again - affiliate link - but by using it, I think YOU get a free box, not really sure what I get.   I've tired other subscription boxes, so far this is the best option for us.  I usually pick three meals, but instead of just doing the 4 person serving size, I double it - so I get 8 servings of 3 meals for about $120 delivered.   That's $40 per night which is already less than we'd spend eating out - plus we'll always have enough leftovers for lunches or Saturday's leftover day.
